Meet the breeder

I'm Gail R., the breeder behind Gail’s Goldens located in Kenosha, WI. We are committed to always responsibly breeding with the best interest of our puppies’ health and longevity at the forefront. We find so much joy in watching our puppies grow and develop their own unique personalities. We can’t wait for you to meet your next loving and loyal companion!

Q. & A. with Gail

  • Why did you start breeding?

We have owned and loved many golden retrievers in the last 30 + years. All of our goldens have been raised individually in our home. We decided to breed our dam, Belle, (fully registered with AKC —American Kennel Club) when she was at an appropriate breeding age and cleared all AKC recommended health testing.
  • What makes your program special?

Family owned, home raised puppies. We have diligently searched for complimentary sires to breed with our Belle. The studs we have found live with their owners: Scout (light golden) with an impressive AKC pedigree and wonderful temperament and Sunna who is a dark golden and working on becoming a therapy dog.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Gail was wonderful! She kept in touch with us and provided details about our puppy’s personality and developmental progress until he came home. Our puppy, Fisher, adapted well to our home and is so much fun. He has such a nice demeanor and has been such a joyful addition to our family. We highly recommend Gail for others searching for a loving breeder and seeking a sweet and smart fur baby.

I had just moved to a rural area, and my husband said we could get a puppy. I had always wanted a golden retriever, so I started looking online for breeders near me. I never knew "good dog" existed but stumbled upon it in my search which is how I found Gail. I emailed with Gail, filled out the application for a puppy, and she matched me with my baby. Gail sent pictures and videos until he was 6 weeks old which was the age we were able to go meet him and his beautiful momma Belle. Gail was thorough in all paperwork, and the pups had vet visits before they went to their forever homes. We now have a rambunctious, sweet 10 week old ball of fluff named Geddy. We couldn't be more happy with our new family member. If I were to get another Golden retriever, and she had puppies, I would get one of Gail's puppies again.

Gail was great to work with. We got our beautiful girl from her this September and she is thriving. She got a clean bill of health from our own vet in addition to all the paperwork from Gail. I think there will be many gorgeous, well bred litters coming from Gail in the future!

Gail was an absolute pleasure to work with to help find our perfect puppy. As an experienced golden retreiver owner herself, she provided such helpful insights and detail in terms of puppy and adult dog care with her meticulous care and organization. Our puppy is settling in beautifully and he is a bundle of joy. We thank Gail for making the process as smooth as possible and would 100% recommend her for anyone seeking to have a puppy as part of their family.
