I'm Carrie M., the breeder behind GEM Danes located in Esparto, CA. We are a preservation breeder and take every step we can to ensure what we produce is an overall sound and correct Great Dane. We can produce happy healthy puppies, but it’s just as important that families feed/care/train correctly for proper growth and overall wellness. We are here to help!
Q. & A. with Carrie
Why did you start breeding?
I have always loved the breed! When looking for a quality Dane as a pet for myself had a hard time finding a breeder who health tested and had quality dogs that resembled the breed. I started researching and found some great mentors who pointed me in the right direction.
What makes your program special?
We strive to breed healthy correct well-tempered Danes. We go above and beyond from day one with our puppies and families. We utilize ENS, rules of 7’s, puppy culture and more with our puppies. Even after puppies have gone to their new families we are still very involved, have local training classes and meetups.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include harlequin, mantle, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
