I'm Kristen M., the breeder behind Gichigami French Bulldogs located in Boyne City, MI. We raise our dogs with love in our home. We have high expectations for our pups and strive to pair each one with a loving family. We are home-based breeders dedicated to bringing healthy, loving, and high-quality French Bulldogs into the homes and hearts of their forever families. We love our dogs and are passionate about raising our puppies to be the best family companions.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Our love for French Bulldogs began in 2008 when I purchased my first French Bulldog, an adorable brindle Pied (spotted) female named Vista. It was then that I fell head over heels for this incredible breed. With over 30 years of experience in the dog and equine industry, we continuously strive to provide our clients with the finest French Bulldog puppies to complete their families.

  • What makes your program special?

    We take a hands-on approach to raising our puppies, as they are born and raised in our homes alongside us. This allows them to have a more well-rounded upbringing, as we expose them to new experiences as they grow. By the time they are ready to go to their new homes, they are confident and well-adjusted puppies. All our French Bulldogs adhere to the breed standard.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include cream, fawn, tricolors, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Kristen

Kristen has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Kristen partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We like to make sure that each puppy is getting the perfect family. We do not allow any of our puppies to be reserved until they reach at least three weeks old, in the meantime, we do like to FaceTime with all of our families prior to them being reserved and go over any questions you may have to make sure that this is the perfect fit. We are always there to answer any questions you may have as well.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $1,000 non-refundable deposit and between $2,500 - $6,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC pet registration, Six and Eight week vaccinations, deworming at 2,4,6 and 8 weeks, Puppy Vet Check and take home Puppy Care Package. Taking deposits for puppies is a way to ensure responsible ownership and provide financial security for breeders or sellers. The deposit serves as a commitment and a guarantee of the purchase of puppy.”

Contract & health guarantee

Kristen may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
