I'm Tori G., the breeder behind Gillit Family Goldens of NTX located in Forest Hill, TX. Our dog pairings are chosen carefully, considering medical strengths and temperament. We aim to better the breed and to provide intelligent and healthy dogs. We practice responsible, ethical breeding protocols, blending Avidog and Puppy Culture training throughout the entirety of our program.

Why did you start breeding?
A few years ago, we became interested in breeding and got to know several breeders in our area to get started. We added our first Golden Retriever to our family in 2021 and fell in love with the breed. We read extensively and follow many incredible breeders who share fantastic information on the latest health practices, show work, and scent work. Our litters are the beneficiaries. We are always adding new challenges, toys, and practices to our program.What makes your program special?
We aim to raise emotionally intelligent and happy dogs who thrive on learning new things and make fantastic best friends in their new homes.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

About Nalani
Nalani is the sweetest-natured girl. She is lovable and always looking for a friend. She thoroughly enjoys playing fetch with her ball and chewing on her bones. She is a fantastic girl with a goofy personality and an incredible nose! She is amazing at playing scent games and loves playing outdoors with other dogs. But mostly she just wants to stay by her owner's side, especially if there are any snacks to be had.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

+5Tori was amazing from start to finish and we have the most amazing puppy called Rover! She kept us updated with updates, photos and information throughout the whole process and really looked after the puppies throughout this time. She put a lot of effort into preparing the litter for their new homes with regards to sounds and scenarios and we really think this has played a huge part in Rover adapting to his new home. Couldn't say enough good things! Rover is nearly 3 months and has settled in with us well. We can't wait to get him out on walks once he is fully vaccinated.
