I'm Shelby & Hope B., the breeder behind Golden Barnes Kennel located in Lexington, OK. We are proud to offer our beautiful Golden Retriever puppies to loving homes! Our dogs are healthy and have great temperaments. Golden Retrievers are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. We are dedicated towards achieving excellence and healthy family pets, and we are always working to further our education so that we can continue to improve our breeding program.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I purchased my first Golden in 2007 as a family companion for my children. I have always had dogs in my home but never a Golden and WOW these dogs are the best family dogs around. I knew I had to share the love Jazz brought into our home and our lives.
  • What makes your program special?

    All of our little angels are raised in our home with all the love and care they deserve. What does this mean for you? Full socialization!! Sights, smells, sounds, activity they they will encounter in their new homes that they are already accustomed to!! We start POTTY TRAINING, and go through a service dog socialization checklist of over 100 items to insure the best start for these little angels .
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Shelby & Hope

Shelby & Hope has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $1,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes AKC registration, full health certificate from our vet, health and weight charts, puppy pack includes toys, treats, blanket, food, potty bags and much more!! All puppies are the same price. We do not discriminate. All deposits are non-refundable.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • DNA Disease Panel, Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis 5 (NCL5), Golden Retriever Type, Ichthyosis, Golden Retriever Type 1, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), PRA, Golden Retriever 2, PRA, Golden Retriever 1

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
