I'm Lauren R., the breeder behind Golden Hour located in Arlington, TN. Our puppies are bred to exemplify correct conformation and temperament. I fell in love with the breed after meeting a few who worked as therapy dogs at the children’s hospital I worked for, and began learning everything I could! From there I began dog sports, showing, and health testing.

Adorable Toast! I held this boy back because he would do well in a home that enjoys training tricks or skills, dog sports, or is active! He’s incredibly intelligent and has a bit higher drive than my other pups.

About Lyric
Lyric is a conformation grand champion, a working therapy dog, a lover of every dog sport we have tried, and most importantly our best girl. She is health tested well beyond CHIC standards, and has an exemplary fun loving temperament with a great off switch. She is also one of the funniest dogs we have ever met, laughs are guaranteed!
Excellent health testing
Excellent level
Golden Hour reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Standard Poodles.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Sebaceous Adenitis (SA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
