I'm Amber K., the breeder behind Golden Keys Kennels located in Conroe, TX. My long term plan is to stay as a small home breeder so as to ensure the best quality to my puppies as they go home with well rounded personalities and proper exposure to different sounds, experiences, and social interactions.
Calm, sweet temperaments are the outcome of the puppies that I breed.
Q. & A. with Amber
Why did you start breeding?
As an avid dog lover through my childhood years, I started breeding labradors when I was 18 years old. I’ve certainly learned a lot since then, having a changing my breed of choice to English cream golden retrievers.
What makes your program special?
My current breeding program involves only one female, and I am home full-time allowing me to spend all of my time devoted to the mother and her puppies.
I don’t plan on exceeding more than 2 to 3 females at a time so as to continue to dedicate myself fully to my litters.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Our experience with Golden Keys Kennels was excellent. Amber was great. We got to see our puppy in person early in the process, and Amber kept us updated with pictures and videos for a few weeks before we picked up our new puppy for good. It's been 15 years since our last Golden Retriever, so Amber was very helpful with everything we needed to know for bringing home a new puppy. We named her Millie, and she is wonderful. Everyday she exhibits more personality and learns new things. She loves to snuggle, which is awesome. Amber did a great job potty training Millie, so that was very much appreciated.
