Q. & A. with Genevieve

  • Why did you start breeding?

I first became interested in becoming a breeder about a year after we welcomed our Golden home. She is a Service Dog for our severely disabled and medically complex son. She is a very quick learner with a genuine interest in performing the tasks we needed. Her patience, tolerance, innate maternal instincts & desire to be at the center of it all has made her a very cherished member of our family.
  • What makes your program special?

We breed EXCELLENT rated 100% Genetic & Cardio clear parents, OFA good/excellent hip/elbow scores w/ Pennhip tendon testing & CERF cleared annual eye exams. Our climate pledge is backed by renewable energy, we offer a low cost pediatric service dog program for children w/disabilities. Our third party canine psychology eval with temperament testing for puppies & parents giving forever homes the best
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I am thrilled with Genevieve from Golden Meadows of Utah. This has been a wonderful informative experience. It was Saturday 6/28/25 that my husband and I agreed that we wanted a Golden Retriever puppy. I contacted Good Dog and then we were referred to Genevieve the breeder. I shared my thoughts about having a Golden Retriever puppy as our companion since we are both retired and we would have the time and energy to handle a new puppy. Well, Genevieve arranged for an in-depth interview where she so carefully told us about her breeding practices and guidelines. I was so impressed with her knowledge as a breeder and her “purpose” in helping pediatric patients with special needs and those individuals affected by trauma. It warmed my heart, really. We have two young grandchildren, a girl eight and a boy three who will be thrilled for this new addition to our family. The stars were aligned! Genevieve approved of us and we had an appointment to meet the puppies on Sunday 6/29/25. Golden Meadows of Utah has extensive benefits when purchasing one of their puppies. They are open 7 days a week from 9am-9pm and after hours in emergency. They are here for us and our puppy for the life of our pet. If I have questions or concerns while caring for our pet, Genevieve is there for us. They offer a 12-24 month Health Guarantee as long as the fair guidelines in the written contract are met. The parent dogs of each puppy are genetically tested and cleared with the highest standards prior to breeding, as outlined by the Golden Retriever of America (GRCA) and the Orthopedic Foundation of America (OFA). There is an Eye Guarantee, Hips & Elbow Guarantee. No osteoarthritis, just displasia. Refunds or replacements (next litter) are fair and balanced for both parties. The guidelines in the Golden Meadows of Utah 12-24 month are made out of the love for your dog/puppy, and the health and welfare as she/he is growing up. Genevieve is a professional breeder and a person I can trust and rely on for the best experience I could ever have asked for. Our female 9 week old puppy is beautiful and perfectly tempered. We are so in love with her and we have Genevieve’s love and care for her parent dogs and puppies to thank for this. Our many regards to Golden Meadows of Utah.

It was amazing. She was very thorough with medical on mom and dad and the puppies. She gave a complete rundown on the puppies. She makes sure they eat only the healthiest food and snacks. She gave us food and snacks to last probably two weeks. That way we could stay home and enjoy our new puppy without worrying about running to the store. The puppies were well on their way to being paper trained. The puppies were bred for being of the temperament for being service dogs. Our little girl had the best temperament. Extremely happy and acclimated to living with us overnight. She is the sweetest little puppy I’ve ever ever had the experience of having as a puppy. I cannot believe how well she went from her mama to us.
