Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca B., the breeder behind Golden Mesa Doodles located in Golden, CO. Golden Mesa Doodles is a small, family-based Goldendoodle breeder dedicated to raising healthy, happy puppies in a loving home. We are a neurodivergent family of four, including a geneticist and a physical therapist, along with our two children (ages 11 and 13). Our background in genetics and physical well-being strongly influences how we approach breeding, puppy development, and early care. Our two adult Goldendoodles are beloved family dogs, and their current litter of nine puppies is being raised in our home with daily handling, early socialization, and age-appropriate enrichment. Our puppies are exposed to normal household sounds, children, and positive human interaction to help build confident, well-adjusted temperaments. At Golden Mesa Doodles, we prioritize: Health-focused, intentional breeding Early socialization and gentle handling Raising puppies as part of the family, not in kennels Our goal is to thoughtfully match each puppy with a loving, responsible forever home and support families as they welcome a new companion.

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

My grandmother raised dogs as the primary breadwinner in the 60s & 70s and some of my aunts and cousins have as well. I wanted to show my kids birth and raising puppies, and honor her legacy as well. My kids also struggle with anxiety and depression and having the puppies around has made our house so joyful!
  • What makes your program special?

I've done the genetics myself, I will only breed dogs I like and think deserve to pass on their genetics. Chewbacca and Daisy are definitely worthy!!! Our youngest child slept in the same room with Daisy and the puppies for the first 6 weeks, we know these puppies' personalities inside and out to recommend the best dog for your family.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are medium size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include apricot and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I truly cannot say enough good things about Golden Mesa Doodles. From the very first interaction, the owner, Rebecca was incredibly responsive, warm, and reassuring. As a first time puppy owner, I came into this process with excitement, nervousness, and a lot of question (many of them small, anxious, or probably a little silly) and she answered every single one with patience, kindness, and zero judgment. She never made me feel like I was too much. Instead, she made me feel welcome, supported, and genuinely included as part of the litter family! Although I live in Maryland and Rebecca is in Colorado, I never once felt hesitant or uneasy about working with her from a distance. In fact, I felt more comfortable and secure than I expected. She communicated clearly and quickly, helped me through every step of the process, and made everything feel seamless and well thought out. From start to finish, I always knew what was happening, what to expect, and that my puppy’s wellbeing was her top priority. That level of trust and transparency meant everything to me. She even flew my puppy out when I shared that I was nervous about flying with him as a first time owner. And then there’s the puppy himself. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better start. He came home healthy, confident, incredibly sweet, and remarkably smart. It’s immediately clear how thoughtfully and intentionally he was raised. He adapted to his new environment almost effortlessly, which is such a relief given that I live in a busy downtown area with constant noise, movement, and new experiences. The way he has handled all of the sights, sounds, and changes speaks volumes about the socialization, care, and foundation he received early on. He is affectionate, curious, gentle, and already showing just how intelligent and emotionally attuned he is. He even rings a bell every time he needs to go outside! I’m so appreciative of how well prepared he was for this transition, which is a direct reflection of the love and dedication with which these puppies were raised. Yes, this is a gushing review, because I honestly couldn’t have asked for anything more from this experience. If you are looking for an ethical, knowledgeable, and deeply caring breeder who treats both her puppies and their families with respect and heart, I cannot recommend Golden Mesa Doodles highly enough!!
