I'm Michelle M., the breeder behind Golden Paws of Purpose located in Salisbury, NC. We provide varied training and do VolHard testing to place each puppy with the RIGHT family. We are here to support you through the journey of bonding, training and dog ownership. We require a puppy prep class for ALL new owners to start the journey off on the right paw :).

Why did you start breeding?
I wanted to combine my passion for helping others through animal therapeutic interactions, my love of Golden Retrievers & my enjoyment of training animals. By breeding and ensuring a positive loving environment for my momma's and my puppies, the biosensor training, desensitization and socialization training that I do myself, I can stand behind my recommendations for my working pups and pets.What makes your program special?
I have a unique background in training everything from dogs, horses, raccoons to tigers and lions. I have successfully hand raised many species of animals and have veterinary tech knowledge that helps during those challenging times as a breeder. I personally know what a blessing having a well trained service animal can be and want to share that experience with as many people as possible.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

“The price includes first round of vaccinations, deworming and first veterinary visit as well as biosensor training, socialization, desensitization training and Volhard testing. All of the puppies are the same price regardless of color, size or sex.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
