Meet the breeder

I'm Jillian G., the breeder behind Golden Poppy Retrievers located in Stockton, CA. I’m Jillian of Golden Poppy Retrievers in Stockton, CA. Inspired by the difference our daughter’s service dog made in her life, we raise Goldens with love and purpose. Our puppies grow up in our home with early enrichment, scent introduction, and training foundations. We wean on raw food, focus on health and temperament, and offer lifelong support.

Q. & A. with Jillian

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our journey began with Buttercup, whose companionship and service work made a meaningful difference in our daughter’s life. That bond inspired us to help other families experience the love and partnership a Golden can bring. With Mercedes and our collaboration with Crème Brûlée Goldens, that inspiration grew into Golden Poppy Retrievers.
  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies grow up in our home with thoughtful attention to health, temperament, and early development. We use Puppy Culture and Avidog practices, early neurological stimulation, scent introduction, and imprinting as foundations for possible future service work. We raise and wean on raw food with healthy supplements and offer lifelong support.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jillian

Jillian has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Jillian partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“Families are screened and approved as potential forever homes. We assess each puppy’s temperament and let the puppy’s connection with their person help guide the match.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit that secures a spot in a litter. The remaining $3,000 is due before pickup, plus applicable taxes and fees.

“Includes first vaccine, deworming, AKC registration, home raising, early enrichment, scent introduction, training foundations, raw-food weaning, puppy education, and lifelong support. Your $500 deposit reserves your place in puppy selection order and is applied toward the total purchase price. We work with you to match a puppy’s temperament with your family and lifestyle.”
