Nancy T.

Breeder of Golden Retrievers

Meet the breeder

I'm Nancy T., the breeder behind Golden State Goldens located in Shingle Springs, CA. We are conscientious in our breeding practices, and we breed for health, temperament, drive, and ability. We want our dogs to succeed in whatever performance sports or activities chosen, as well as to thrive with their families in their new home.

Q. & A. with Nancy

  • Why did you start breeding?

I am very passionate about the Golden Retriever breed. My first golden, Duke, was the best friend I could ever have imagined. He changed my life forever. My love for this breed helped me envision a life centered around goldens. As a breeder, I do everything possible to protect and improve future generations of this breed so that others can enjoy the companionship of these amazing dogs.
  • What makes your program special?

I breed for the love of Goldens. I value responsible breeding practices and want to do my part to ensure the breed will continue to thrive. We use genetic testing as well of OFA tests to ensure the health and wellbeing of this breed, and it is our goal to breed for great temperaments and ensure each dog has a solid foundation of good health, neurological development, socialization, and loving care.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
