I'm Rebecca C., the breeder behind Golden Sunrise Retrievers located in Wauseon, OH. We raise quality happy healthy and beautiful Golden Retrievers. The most important factors in our puppies are temperament & health. I carefully choose the sire and dam in order to produce the best quality possible to produce healthy puppies that make a well rounded character in an adult dog.

AKC Breeder of Merit and AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. Our adults have OFA Hip, Elbow, Patella, Heart, Thyroid, LCP, Dentition and Eye Clearances along with DNA clearances for Degenerative Myelopathy, prcd-PRA, PRA1, PRA2, NCL and Ichthyosis.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Rebecca
Rebecca has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Rebecca partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“I do not allow my families to pick their own puppies, but I do take into consideration their preferences and wishes. From the time puppies are born, they are color coded to keep track of who is who. I send weekly pictures to my clients that have a reservation so they can see how they grow. The two most important things about getting a new puppy are the health and temperament of it, NOT the size, color, shape of head or any other cosmetic trait! All puppies are cute and beautiful, but each one has a distinct personality. It is my job as a breeder to match the personality of each puppy with the right client, so I do NOT let my clients choose their puppies as no one knows them as well as I do. I begin to evaluate the puppies between five and seven weeks old and do not make my final decision as to who is getting which puppy until after that. Any show prospects have priority over companion puppies and are selected first.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dentition, Legg-Calve-Perthes (OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
