Meet the breeder

I'm Allison R., the breeder behind Golden Wiggle Retrievers located in El Dorado Hills, CA. Our dogs are bred for health, temperament, and intelligence. We strive to produce the best overall pets and family members. We fell in love with the breed because of their intelligence and personality. There’s hardly a better feeling than being able to share them with other families that will love them the way that we do!

Q. & A. with Allison

  • Why did you start breeding?

My journey with breeding began long before Golden Wiggle Retrievers. As a teenager, my borther and I raised Labrador Retrievers and learned the dedication, responsibility, and joy that comes with raising well bred dogs. Those early expreriences planted the seed, but everything changed when I was gifted my first Golden Retriever, Wayne. From the moment he came into my life, I knew he was my sould dog. He showed me the incredible heart, intelligence, and loyalty that make Golden Retrievers so special, and from then on, I knew this was the breed I wanted to devote my life to. In my twenties, I bred my Goldens, Wayne and Kayla, before taking a step back to focus on raising my 4 children. As any parent knows family comes first, and those years were some of the most rewarding in my life. But the dream of breeding never left me. Once my children were grown and off to college, I knew it was time to return to what I had loved years before. During COVID, I welcomed Olive in my life, and she reignited my passion for the breed. My search then began for the perfect foundation female, and that's when Brandy came along. Soon after, I made the decision to add Hank as my own stud dog to build the breeding program I had always envisioned. From the beginning, I knew that if I was going to breed again, I wanted to do it the right way. That meant following the GRCA COE, completing all recommended health testing, and never compromising on temperament or health. When both Brandy and Hank passed their gentetic testing and OFA clearances, I knew I had the foundation I had worked so hard for. Today, my goal is simple: to produce ethically bred Golden Retrievers with outstanding health, sound structure, and exception temperament. I strive to raise puppies that are as versatile as they are beautiful, whether they become beloved family companions, therapy or service dogs, sport, or adventure partners. Every litter is thoughfull planned, every puppy is raised with intention, and every family becomes part of the Golden Wiggle Retrievers family. For me, this has never been just about breeding dogs. It's about preserving everything I fell in love with when Wayne first came into my life and sharing that same joy with families for generations to come.
  • What makes your program special?

Our dogs are never just breeding dogs, they are our family first. They live in our home, share our daily lives, and are loved as cherished companions before anything else. We believe that breeding should prove more than just health and pedigree. Our dogs are active, purpose driven and trained year round to showcase the incredible versitilty of the Golden Retriever. We spend time each week training together, challenging their minds, building confidence, and strengthening the bond we share. Every one of our bredding dogs has earned titles, including AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Advanced Canine (CGCA), Urban Canine (CGCU), Trick Dog Novice (TKN) , and Dock Master (DM). They also serve their communites as certified First Responder Therapy Dogs, brining comfort and support during difficult times. In addition, two of our dogs are my personal service dogs, demonstration the stable temperament, intelligence and trainability tha I value so highly in my breeding program. My goal is to prove that our dogs are truly well rounded. They aren't just beautiful Golden Retrievers, they have the temperament, health, and willingess to excel as family companions, therapy and service dogs, sporting partners, and lifelong best friends. I will continue training and titling each dog in the areas where they naturally thrive, because I believe every achievement reflects the quality, purpose, and and versitility I strive to preserve in this incredible breed.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are dark golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
