I'm Lauren E., the breeder behind GoldenStory Retrievers located in Rogersville, MO. We carefully breed one, (or two occasionally), litter(s) per year as our focus is on excellent health, outstanding temperaments, and great care for each puppy. We are passionate about raising well balanced, loving companions for each family.

Why did you start breeding?
I became interested in breeding as a teen after learning about the role both genetics and early nurturing plays in the development of healthy, happy dogs. After we married, my husband and I decided to start a small scale breeding program with a focus on excellence. It has truly been a joy and has added much to our families lives.
What makes your program special?
Because we only breed one to two litters per year, we are able to really focus on producing outstanding puppies. Our dogs are truly special and their puppies have been remarkable. Health is incredibly important to us, but equally so is outstanding temperament. From the moment the puppies are born, they are lovingly handled cared for - they are a part of our family.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Lauren

Lauren has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Lauren partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,300 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The purchase price includes AKC registration, a health guarantee, a puppy welcome pack, 30 day health insurance policy. Puppy will be microchipped, and have received their first vaccines. All of our puppies are the same price regardless of sex. A deposit will hold a puppy for the buyer, (picks go in order of deposits placed).”

Contract & health guarantee

Lauren may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
