Meet the breeder

I'm Rebecca C., the breeder behind Gravitas Golden Retrievers located in Visalia, CA. We started Gravitas Goldens due to a long-standing love of the breed, an appreciation for what a good family dog should be, and a belief that it is people like us who will be the best stewards and advocates for the breed.

Q. & A. with Rebecca

  • Why did you start breeding?

Gravitas Golden Retrievers was founded due to what Rebecca feels is a lack of reputable and ethical breeders. So many dog trainers/behavior consultants wish that more of us would breed dogs because we are exactly the people who should be breeding dogs. Rebecca sees what happens when genetics and upbringing have not been prioritized, the behavioral and health implications can be devastating.
  • What makes your program special?

Our experience as canine behavior consultants makes our program stand out. Our dedication to the breed but also to dog owners are held to the highest standard. That was the only way a litter would be born here, we would not do it any other way.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Rebecca was such a pleasure to work with. Her communication was excellent and she was always very responsive every step of the way and available via email, text or voice to answer any questions or concerns. Her website she provides for each litter was also super helpful - with a puppy cam showing the puppies and tons of useful information and answers to FAQs. We just picked up our puppy yesterday and couldn't be happier - he is such a sweetie.
