Linda D.

Breeder of Miniature American Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Linda D., the breeder behind Great Companions Miniature American Shepherds located in St. Augustine, FL. I breed show quality health tested pups. I am doing all that I can to better the breed. Careful thought and planning have gone into breeding plans to produce pups that can excel in the show ring, participate in any area of competition, or just be a great companion! I am very active with the AKC Parent Club "MASCUSA" and have served the club as the "Recording Secretary" in the past.

Q. & A. with Linda

  • Why did you start breeding?

My introduction to the breed was a mix breed dog that was part, Australian Shepherd. I soon learned about the Miniature Australian Shepherd and acquired my first breeding from Oklahoma. It has taken many years to obtain the quality in my breeding that produces pups capable of being emotional support animals, family pets, sport dogs, and dogs that win in the show ring.
  • What makes your program special?

The heart and soul that goes into keeping the right dogs for my breeding program. I hand deliver every pup that is born. Each pup is handled constantly every day and played with as they grow. The joy of caring for pups and introducing them to different sounds, textures, and socialization make them ready for their new families.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.
