I'm Lisa M., the breeder behind Green Gables Havanese located in Oak Grove, MN. Green Gables Havanese is a small breeder of purebred show and pet Havanese dogs located north of Minneapolis in Minnesota. We’re as proud of our many champions as we are of our sweet pet puppies that have been placed in loving homes. Our goal is to raise healthy, beautiful, sweet puppies whether they are champions or beloved family pets!

Why did you start breeding?
We got interested in showing first, but found we love the breeding and loving on the puppies much more!
What makes your program special?
Because we are a very small, family-based program, we are able to give a lot of time and attention to each of our puppies. They live in the house with us so they are very used to the coming and going and noise of a busy family. I am constantly learning and educating myself on breeding and puppy training. We do Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises with our newborn puppies. They are consistently held and cuddled from the time they are tiny, and as they get older new stimuli are introduced.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and white, red sable, and black and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“All of our puppies are the same price regardless of color or size. We send our puppies home with a Puppy starter kit, food & treats, first vaccination, deworming and vet records, Microchip.”

Lisa may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Congenital Deafness (BAER, registered with OFA)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
