I'm Greg G., the breeder behind Griner Danes located in East Sparta, OH. Some of our puppies have become exceptional show dogs, and all of them have become excellent family dogs and lifelong friends. We enjoy training our dogs, competing in conformation shows, and we also do some obedience. We love spending lots of time with them doing a variety of other activities!
Q. & A. with Greg
Why did you start breeding?
As our mentor was retiring from breeding, we started with her guidance. You completely fall in love with each puppy, and it’s bittersweet to see your babies leave to go to their new homes. It is though, absolutely amazing to watch your pups grow into future show dogs, performance dogs and most importantly family.
What makes your program special?
All dogs are pets first and performance second. All of our dogs are raised in the home with lots of love and exposure to learning new things and environments. We use the Puppy Culture method in training our puppies. Early training is essential when you own a breed that can easily end up weighing over 160 pounds. Great Danes are smart, funny, affectionate, and overall good home and family protectors. All of our breeding dogs have completed at least their AKC Championship title and the recommended heath testing by the O.F.A.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brindle and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
