Breeder of Havanese

Meet the breeder

I'm Charissa P., the breeder behind Happy Havanese located in Spokane, WA. Our dogs are bred with your joy and happiness in mind, as well as theirs. We have a small set up that includes lots of love and attention as well as socialization. We have health and home practices for healthy dog maintenance.

Q. & A. with Charissa

  • Why did you start breeding?

We bought Mercy, our 6 year old Dam, from Mt. Top Havanese. I've always wanted to breed and bought her with that intention. We used a sire through Mt. Top for her first litter, kept one of her females we call Ziebe, and have since also bought an AKC registered male through Mt. Top Havanese we named Romeo. We have enjoyed giving pups away to family as well as selling a few to cover costs.
  • What makes your program special?

These dogs are part of our family. The pups are played with and loved on when they aren't napping. We care for them because we love them and want others to share in how special and wonderful they are. We had genetic testing done on our females and was clear of any concerns. Romeo's parents also had clear genetic history, all through Embark. Everyone who has gotten one of our pups adores them!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include white, cream, chocolate, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
