I'm Melinda C., the breeder behind Happy Tails Mini Goldens located in Ogden, UT. Our dogs are not only a business, but also a part of our lives and home. We hope to bring you those same advantages when you pick out a puppy from one of our amazing litters! We want your dogs to be one of the family, your best friend, the kind of companion that will bring joy into your life!
Q. & A. with Melinda
Why did you start breeding?
I have always been an animal person since I was a little girl. Living out in the country, I naturally wanted all of the animals I could get my hands on, from the largest horse to the smallest frog. I begged my dad multiple times a year to get my siblings and me a dog. I started researching dogs and saving every penny when I was just 8 years old, discovering the Mini Retriever was what I wanted!
What makes your program special?
We are excitedly working to breed quality, healthy Miniature Golden Retrievers. Golden Retrievers, in my opinion, are the most amazing dogs! They have all the perks of a golden, but only half the size! They are intelligent, loyal, fun-loving, and absolutely beautiful! We want to stay with champion bloodlines as it keeps their genetics, their temperament, and their looks at the highest quality!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include small and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have smooth coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Willow, mom
Golden Retriever
About Willow
Willow has passed all of her health tests successfully through parentage, and she is registered with the American Kennel Club (AKC). Willow perfectly resembles a field-bred golden retriever. This means that she has long legs, a long muzzle, and a slim build. Willow has adorable, expressive brown eyes with black liner around them to make them stand out, as well as a black nose and black paws. Another thing she inherits from the field-bred retrievers is her short, low-shedding coat. It is extremely low maintenance, velvety soft, and waves slightly around her ears and tail. Willow is a smaller-sized golden retriever, only weighing 53 pounds and standing 20" at the shoulder. All of these traits, combined with her stunning red coloring and stellar genetic lineage, make her the perfect Miniature Golden Retriever mama!
