Meet the breeder

I'm Candace V., the breeder behind Happytails Golden Retrievers located in Sewickley, PA. Our dogs are bred to the AKC standard with temperament and health being our focus. We spend countless hours raising our puppies to be socialized before they leave our home and coach our new families on how to continue that after they leave. This helps ensure our dogs are well-adjusted family members and wonderful family pets.

Q. & A. with Candace

  • Why did you start breeding?

A love affair with Golden Retrievers started in the 1970s when I got my first pet Golden, Taffey, and started to show her in competition obedience after joining a local training club.
  • What makes your program special?

We consider ourselves to be reputable breeders with all of our litters carefully planned. Our puppies are raised in our home with lots of interaction and stimulation. They are exposed to many things to give them the best head start possible before they leave for their new forever homes.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
