Meet the breeder

I'm Hollie H., the breeder behind Hardcastle Family Schnauzer’s located in Sacramento, CA. I’m a mom of four and homeschool our children, so family is at the heart of everything we do. Our home is also filled with our beloved Mini Schnauzers—Bailey, Mateo, Sienna & Maple. 🐾 Because we intentionally keep our program small, we are able to give our dogs and puppies the individual attention, care, socialization, and love they deserve. For us, breeding has never been about quantity. We believe in quality over quantity. Thoughtfully planning our litters and prioritizing health, temperament, socialization, and overall well-being. Our puppies are raised in our home and surrounded by the love, care, and everyday experiences of a family environment.

Q. & A. with Hollie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for Mini Schnauzers began with a lifelong dream of owning one. For my birthday, I welcomed two beautiful females into our family. Before starting our program, I spent two years researching the breed, genetics, health, temperament, and responsible breeding practices. I wanted to make sure we approached breeding thoughtfully and with the well-being of our dogs as the priority.
  • What makes your program special?

We believe transparency, health, and the experience we provide to our families truly set us apart. All of our dogs are health tested, and we only work with outside studs who are health tested as well. We also believe families should be part of the journey. Our puppy parents receive regular photo and video updates, allowing them to watch their puppy grow and experience those special moments while they are still in our care. When it’s time to go home, each puppy leaves with a thoughtfully prepared care package to help make the transition into their new family as smooth as possible.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Hollie

Hollie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Hollie partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape.

“We start a waitlist and we have parents place a deposit. Picking takes place in order deposits are placed. 1st to last. We wait for parents to choose their puppy at 4 weeks old when we see some personalities. However, we do help by matching puppies with the best fit families too. If we feel like one puppy may be better fit we will mention that as well. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $200 refundable deposit and between $2,600 - $3,300 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“Before going home, each puppy receives a vet wellness check, dewclaw removal, tail docking, deworming, first vaccines, registration, a puppy contract, birth certificate, professional grooming, and a take-home care package. Before we take deposit we want buyer to look over our profile on GoodDog and then look over our puppy contracts. IF USING KLARNA as a payment method, please see if you are approved asap.”

Hollie was amazing, we had the absolute best experience. Hollie frequently messaged updates and photos of our sweet girl. Hollie was great. She answered all my questions regarding the birthing and how the puppies were fairing. She sent lots of pictures and videos of the puppy’s progress. Picking day was so much fun to see all the available puppies and the one I wanted was available. After that she kept me informed on daisies progress and her well being with pictures and videos. Picking up day went well, both for us and the puppy. Hollie checked on us later in day to see if we had any questions. She answered the few questions we had. I would highly recommend Hollie Hardcastle schnauzer’s. It has been definitely a untroubled journey and very positive

This experience of adopting our little Lillie from Hollie has been absolutely a dream. She was responsive and answered all my questions (even the ridiculous ones). This is our first time adopting a puppy so little & she helped us know what to be prepared for & must have items to make the transition easier. We also got updates & pictures pretty frequently which made the wait not feel so long 😂 You can tell the puppies are so loved with Hollie and it translates into when they officially come home.
