I'm Patrick L., the breeder behind Haus Amberg Shepherds located in Trenton, FL. We breed with passion and represent the German SV standard—red and black color, high drive, a clear head, and correct structure. The goal we set and which I believe is still the most important, is to produce healthy puppies that make a well-rounded character in an adult dog.
Q. & A. with Patrick
Why did you start breeding?
My Grandfather, Johann “Hans” Eiban, started breeding German Shepherds in 1969 under the kennel name, vom Krumbachertal, out of Amberg, Germany. Hans was a well-respected breeder, judge and vice president in the Amberg community. Growing up in Europe allowed me to surround myself with an abundance of knowledge about dog breeding and training, thus forging my love for the breed.
What makes your program special?
We take care to preserve breed standard by having hips and elbows scanned on each of our dogs. All of our dogs must hold working titles in order to breed, but our standard after breeding is what makes us so special. Our puppies come to you with a health guarantee and well-socialized with animals, kids, and various sounds. Upon your request, we will also train your new puppy in the NePoPo system.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in a kennel on my property.
