Q. & A. with Nicole
Why did you start breeding?
I have been around animals my entire life. Great Danes stole my heart at a young age with my first one, Jake. I am dedicated to providing them the best possible lives. I aim to better the breed as a whole and build a world in which my dogs can thrive and excel. I strive for excellence in every aspect of my program and am committed to providing you with a professional and positive experience as I welcome you to the Heart of Texas Great Danes family. I love my dogs and I know you will too!
What makes your program special?
I am not a big fancy kennel with dozens of dogs. I consider myself a hobby breeder that raises her danes as family. They sleep in my bed with me every night. If you see me out and about, 90% of the time I will have a Great Dane at my side or sitting in my lap. Iam dedicated to always having responsible policies when it comes to breeding, training, and finding the best homing my pups. I love what I do and truly want nothing more than to see each and every one of my puppies shine! My puppies are well-rounded, healthy, and loving. They are prepared to thrive in any environment. I am honored to share my love for this breed with others! Breeder support is always available and does not stop when the puppy joins your family…you are joining the Heart of Texas Great Danes Family.
Welcome home 🐾❤️
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brindle, fawn, blue, harlequin, mantle, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Great Dane
About Tillie
Meet Texas Grande Night Sky , lovingly known as Tillie—a two-year-old, midnight black Great Dane whose presence feels like a gentle hush over a chaotic world. With her soulful amber eyes and velvety, ink-dark coat that shimmers under the Texas sun, Tillie carries the kind of quiet wisdom that only comes from an old soul.
Health-tested and built with elegance and strength, Tillie moves with a grace that commands attention—yet it’s her heart that holds you. There’s something timeless in the way she watches over those around her, as if she’s known them for lifetimes. She doesn’t demand the spotlight, but somehow, she’s always in it. People—strangers and friends alike—are drawn to her calm energy, as if they instinctively know they’re safe with her.
Tillie isn’t just a stunning example of her breed; she’s a gentle guardian, a loyal companion, and a daily reminder that beauty is more than skin deep. Whether she’s lounging quietly at your feet or offering comfort with just a look, her spirit speaks in ways words can’t. She is the heart of Texas Grande—and the kind of dog that leaves pawprints not just on the ground, but on your soul.

Great Dane
About Cowboy
Introducing Diesel’s Texas Legacy, affectionately known as Cowboy— (or Jethro at times, lol) a breathtaking blue harlequin Great Dane with a heart as big as the Texas sky and a spirit that echoes the legacy of the incredible dog before him.
Cowboy is the son of a National Champion in Conformation, and while he carries his sire’s striking structure and presence, it’s the sweet, goofy charm they shared that truly sets him apart. From the tilt of his head when he’s curious to the way he leans in for hugs as if he’s known you forever, Cowboy brings joy and light to every space he steps into.
Now training as a service dog, Cowboy is learning to fill the enormous pawprints left by his beloved father, Diesel. And though those are big shoes to fill, he does so with unwavering heart, eagerness, and a deep, intuitive sense of purpose—traits that prove legacy isn’t just about pedigree, but about the love and devotion passed down through generations.
Cowboy isn’t just the future of his line—he’s a living tribute to his father’s memory and a promise that Diesel’s spirit still walks beside us. With every step, every nuzzle, and every gentle act of loyalty, Cowboy is writing his own chapter in a story that began with greatness—and is now growing into something truly extraordinary.

Breeder-Reported Testing
Good level
Heart of Texas Great Danes reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Great Danes.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
DNA Profile
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
