I'm Courtney S., the breeder behind Hearth & Homestead located in Louisville, IL. We raise our pups inside our home & use the Misty Method to prepare the pups for potty training. We work hard to provide the best foundation we can-from removing their dew claws on time to socializing them with our other dogs, cats, and young child. We want to share the Golden Love!

This experience has been amazing from start to finish! Courtney is quick to respond, polite and knowledgeable in raising perfect dogs. She made the process super easy. She definitely works hard to raise beautiful and healthy dogs. We are in love with our Bishop who we got from her. You will not be disappointed!!

I would definitely recommend getting your golden retriever puppy from Hearth & Homestead. They’re extremely knowledgeable and hands on with their puppies and it definitely shows. I got my puppy yesterday and she has already taken to using a grass pad or goes to the door without any coaxing. She is extremely well socialized as well! I have a small Pomeranian (approximately 4 lbs) and they are already getting along super well! They also send home a folder with helpful information and offer help at anytime via messages on Facebook or Gooddog, you can tell they truly care about the breed and dogs/puppies.

Courtney was amazing to work with. She was super responsive all the time. She was kind enough to let us come over and see our puppy 2 weeks before the adoption date to get to know her and Courtney. She had all the answers to every question I asked. She provided a portfolio of all the information for our new dog including the AKC certification of our puppy's bloodline. And on top of that, she supplied a complimentary blanket, toy, and homemade paw balm for our new puppy. She truly does go above and beyond!

It was so obvious that baby Donut was raised with love. ❤️ I couldn’t be more impressed with Hearth & Homestead’s dedication to the pups. So grateful for finding the God Dog app and for Courtney making the process so pleasant.

I could not have had a better experience working with Courtney from Hearth & Homestead! The process was extremely easy and smooth from start to finish—I loved the weekly update pictures I received once I settled on a pup and Courtney was super responsive to any questions I had along the way. The pickup process was super easy and Courtney had everything ready to go when we got there. I could tell the dogs are very well cared for there and raised to come home with the best possible preparation to do well. Most importantly, it was love at first sight with my Winnie who could not have been more perfect, sweet, and well behaved from the moment she got in my car. Thank you so much Courtney!!
