I'm Michele B., the breeder behind Heartland Kennel located in Hoisington, KS. My goal in my program is to produce a puppy that will excel in the Conformation ring, have an amazing temperament to be a loved family pet or working service dog as well as excel in any performance event they are introduced to. We're happy to answer any questions you may have about Standard Poodles.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My parents raised shelties growing up. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life.
  • What makes your program special?

    Family-based, our entire family takes part in raising, showing, and training. Our dogs are family pets but also actively shown in Conformation and Performance.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, black, blue, brown, cream, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Michele

Michele has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,300 - $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes AKC registration, health guarantee, vet check, current on vaccines and deworming as well as microchipped prior to leaving and a Purina ProPlan puppy pack with sample of puppy food. Deposit to hold a puppy is $500 and non-refundable.”

Contract & health guarantee

Michele may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • DNA Coat/Trait Panel, DNA Disease Panel, DNA Profile, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I), Neonatal Encephalopathy with Seizures (NEwS)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
