I'm Julie W., the breeder behind Hidden Hickories Farm located in Shelbyville, KY. The farm life provides an outstanding foundation for healthy athleticism and wonderful family friendly temperaments. Our dogs are not raised in kennels, but in our home with tender loving care. Nutrition plays a big role in proper development which is why we feed age appropriate premium kibble mixed with home cooked beef and chicken. A beautiful healthy dog from the inside and out is our primary goal.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We admired the French bulldog for nearly a decade before we purchased our first pet in 2012. We were instantly in love with the comical sweet nature of this wonderful breed. Many many hours of research and education led to what has become a passion for creating a better French Bulldog in conformation temperament and style. Breeding offers us the opportunity to interact with both science and grace.

  • What makes your program special?

    Our breeding dogs live in our home situated on a ten acre farm with secure fencing and lots of shade trees in a park-like setting. Once they are reliably potty trained, they sleep throughout our home in our beds, couches and pretty much everywhere they choose. We maintain several crates with beds available 24/7 and five cameras connected to the internet allow us to monitor (and talk) to our animals any time we leave the house. Our dogs are our family and our passion.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include brindle, cream, and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Julie

    So many good things to say! Julie is an absolute professional from start to finish and far beyond. She truly wants to make a good match and has the healthiest pups to make that happen. A deeply compassionate and kind human, Julie is also an expert in her field. She gets the DNA to a finely honed level (she’s an expert!) - the “bread box” size, no “wonky paws,” (!!), a healthy coat, no eye issues, on & on. You will know you’re getting a fantastic, beautiful, and most of all healthy Frenchie, especially in a field of more troubling breeders producing pups that just don’t pass muster. Julie even helped us during a medical emergency with another of our Frenchies (not bred by her). Her calm demeanor was immeasurably appreciated & expert advice was spot on. I couldn’t recommend Julie more highly. Our now-one year old girl is happy, healthy, sassy, and so loving. We’re so deeply grateful.
