Q. & A. with Quin-Anne
Why did you start breeding?
I discovered Old-Time Scotch Collies in 2017. I immediately fell in love with the idea of preserving and promoting this incredible landrace of collies and knew that I wanted to be involved beyond just owning one. I got my first OTSC a couple years later, after a long search and a LOT of waiting. I took the plunge into becoming an OTSC breeder in 2021.
What makes your program special?
I am committed to maintaining the breed standards while keeping genetic diversity, health, temperament, working ability, and desire to please at the forefront. Breeding dogs are selected with care. Puppies are raised with dedication to their well-being and conscientiously socialized in order to provide them and their new families with the greatest opportunities for long, happy lives together.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Monie
Monie guards the farm from raccoons, hunts rats, and breaks up chicken squabbles. Alert, attentive, and quick to learn, she is an excellent family and farm dog. She is athletic with balanced energy level and temperament.
Monie is friendly, kind, energetic with an off switch, smart, alert, protective, biddable, and intuitive. She's good with children and other animals but also happy to lie around the house by herself. She's equally well-mannered at home or away, and she picks up new training very quickly. She is everything an old-time Scottish farm collie is supposed to be.

Full Embark Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
