Meet the breeder

I'm Joyce R., the breeder behind High Plains Goldens located in Merino, CO. My goal is to breed dogs able to fulfill the original purpose of their breed as a hunting retriever and retaining the classic friendly temperament and desire to please. My dogs are fast learners, are fun to train, and are fantastic family dogs!

Q. & A. with Joyce

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always been an animal lover and breeding my dogs has been a natural extension of that.
  • What makes your program special?

The puppies are well socialized and exposed to a variety of situations with the kids' help. I use puppy culture to help raise well rounded, well socialized puppies. My dogs are in and out of the house and have been raised alongside my children. I have done DNA testing in addition to OFA testing and puppies come with a health contract.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
