I'm Elizabeth E., the breeder behind High Road Golden Retrievers located in Seymour, MO. At High Road Goldens, we are dedicated to raising the ultimate family dog. Our indoor-raised puppies receive extensive socialization via ENS, ESI, and the "Rule of 7s." We pair carefully to ensure genetic health and use temperament testing to match you with your confident, loving best friend.
Q. & A. with Elizabeth
Why did you start breeding?
I adore Goldens, but finding an ethical breeder was harder than expected. Our own pickup experience was rushed and disappointing, proving that standards needed to be raised. That ignited a fire in me. I became a breeder to ensure no family has to settle. The name "High Road" isn't just a name; it’s my daily promise to prioritize the dignity and well-being of my dogs above all else.
What makes your program special?
We keep our "High Road" promise by raising light golden puppies indoors, underfoot with my 3 children. We utilize a strictly timed curriculum (ENS, ESI, Rule of 7s) to build confidence. Our strategic genetic pairing ensures every puppy is unaffected by hereditary conditions. We prioritize temperament matching to ensure the perfect fit. We don't just raise dogs; we raise family members.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Golden Retriever
About Sunny
Sunny is as bright and warm as her name suggests. Weighing in at 55 lbs, she possesses a gentle, patient spirit and high intelligence. She loves life's simple joys: car rides, swimming, and being with her people. As a mother, she is attentive and deeply loving, raising her puppies with confidence. Sunny has been genetically screened, and our careful pairings ensure her puppies will be free of all known, testable genetic diseases.
Buddy, dad
Golden Retriever
About Buddy
Sir Winston of Snowy Goldens ("Buddy") is the heart of our program. At a moderate 75 lbs, Buddy is the definition of a "gentle gentleman." He is incredibly patient, mild-mannered, and not easily excited, though he has a silly, goofy side that keeps us laughing. Boasting European pedigree lineage, he carries CHIC Certification and rare OFA Excellent Hips. Most importantly, Buddy has been genetically screened, and our careful pairings ensure his puppies will be free of all known, testable genetic diseases.
*CHIC (Canine Health Information Center) certification is a designation given to dogs that have completed all breed-specific health screenings recommended by their parent club, in this case, the Golden Retriever Club of America.
