I'm Debra F., the breeder behind Highland Farm located in Middleboro, MA. We’re so excited to be able to help families experience the longtime loyalty of welcoming a new puppy into their lives! Each of our dogs has brought so much happiness to us throughout their lives. We want to do our part to produce wonderful, healthy dogs that can bring other people joy as well, and we strive to provide each of our puppies with loving homes where they can live happy lives.
Q. & A. with Debra
Why did you start breeding?
My daughter, who was high school age at the time, wanted a small dog that she thought was going to be hers. Little did she know that the Shih Tzu would join the labrador pack. We fell in love with his personality and decided to get him a playmate of the same size. Rosie joined the family. We started breeding them in 2013, what an easy enjoyable experience. Much different from Labradors.
What makes your program special?
My puppies are raised around small children, other dogs and exposed to all the household daily commotion. I absolutely love raising Shih Tzu. My grandchildren who live with me have become a big part of raising these puppies. This is not a job. It's a passion.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and guardian homes.
