Meet the breeder

I'm Debbie J., the breeder behind Hilary’s Doodle Ranch located in Mount Pleasant, TX. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament along with a focus on structure, confirmation and intelligence. All puppies are raised in BAB Empowered curriculum. We are dedicated to providing families with wonderful loving and healthy pets.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I bought a Goldendoodle and started training him. I loved it. Then I bought a Bernedoodle and fell in love with his gentle loving personality. I then decide I wanted other people to enjoy this wonderful breed. I had suffered a major trauma when I purchased both of these dog and their unfailing love is the only thing that got me to a better place. I hope I can do the same for other people.

  • What makes your program special?

    I want to raise the best puppies I can. I am using Jeanette Forrey’s breeding and curriculum guide with my litters. This type of attention to early puppy development and health will lead to outstanding pets and hopefully someday a few therapy dogs.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Bernedoodle puppies include mini and medium sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Bernedoodle puppies include black and white, tri-color, phantom, blue merle, and merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Debbie

Debbie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Debbie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We take great care to match our puppies with their forever families. Temperament testing is done at 7 weeks, but personalities do begin to emerge slightly earlier. Knowing what personality, a customer is looking for makes matching easier.”

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“This price includes guarantee, BAB curriculum for first 8-10 weeks,first round of shots, deworming and lifetime connection. A puppy go home bag with a snuggle puppy, blanket with mom’s scent, & more. Deposit is non-refundable. It reserves your puppy and will be applied to price of puppy.”

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (Preliminary)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • von Willebrand Disease III (vWD III), DNA Disease Panel, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    I searched far and wide for our perfect puppy. However, I kept finding myself constantly going back to Debbie’s Johnson’s dog videos.     Debbie is a caring breeder who does her best for the pups and the adopting families. Our mini bernedoodle, Watson, is such a sweetheart.     Debbie was wonderful throughout the puppy adoption process. She kept me up-to-date on when her momma dogs were in heat, when pregnancy was confirmed, and when the puppies arrived. She has an efficient wait list service for her puppies, and gives you sufficient time to make your choice of which pup you would like to be yours. Once you select your pup, she will give you updates on her first bath, first vet visit, etc. She takes great care of each puppy and allows them to thrive in a safe environment while implementing a puppy curriculum. On the day you pick up your puppy, she provides all the necessities you may need, which is SUPER helpful if you're traveling long distances like I was. I cannot say enough good things about Debbie and Hilary's Doodle Ranch and I would recommend them to everyone. They are about 8 hours away from me, but I would purchase another puppy from her in a heartbeat! You cannot go wrong with Hilary's Doodle Ranch!!
