Hillbuckle's French Bulldogs

Chris H.

Breeder of French Bulldogs

Meet the breeder

I'm Chris H., the breeder behind Hillbuckle's French Bulldogs located in Stillwell, KS. Breeding primarily, for my own show purpose. I breed very small quantities of the very best Frenchies I can produce.

Q. & A. with Chris

  • Why did you start breeding?

Shann's Gina Barchetta is the girl that started our breeding program. She is responsible for all the Champions we have produced or her daughters! Gina's show career was cut short by my career getting in the way of showing her or she would no doubt be a Champion. Her half-sister took a Best of Breed win at Westminster. She is the best momma dog, in the world, even taking care, of her grandkids, better, than their own mother!
  • What makes your program special?

All my dogs are hand raised, as family members! ( It is not uncommon to have 6 or 7 in bed at night!) I am a member of the French Bulldog Club of America and proudly adhere to the rules and bylaws of our club. I only breed dogs to improve the quality of this breed.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Parent health testing

Breeder-Reported Testing

Good level

Hillbuckle's French Bulldogs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for French Bulldogs.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Spine (OFA, FCI)

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
