Jody H.

Breeder of Great Danes

Meet the breeder

I'm Jody H., the breeder behind Hillside Danes located in Spring Lake, FL. I am purposeful in everything that I do regarding my dogs, which includes careful selection of breeding dogs and extensive health testing. My goal is to produce healthy dogs with great temperaments that are exemplary representations of the breed.

Q. & A. with Jody

  • Why did you start breeding?

Great Danes are an incredible and loyal breed. I decided to start my breeding program in order to preserve the wonderful qualities I found in my dogs. They excel both in and out of the show ring. I am dedicated to improving my lines with each generation so that the breed will continue to thrive for a long time to come.
  • What makes your program special?

I hold myself to the highest standard when it comes to my dogs and my policies. Just “good” isn’t good enough. I am thorough in health testing and caring for my dogs, and I make sure each puppy gets the proper group and individual care that it needs to thrive. My goal is to ensure that every dog that comes from my program is set up to live a happy and healthy life and is prepared for its future role when it leaves my care.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
