I'm Joan S., the breeder behind Honi Vale Great Danes located in Mora, MN. Our dogs are well-socialized members of the family! They're bred for health, temperament, conformation, longevity, and structure. We never use kennels or dog runs. We're always available to our extended family even years after getting your puppy. We absolutely love what we do!
Q. & A. with Joan
Why did you start breeding?
In 2002, I took my youngest son to the pet store to buy a hamster. I met a couple there that were shopping with their two Great Danes. I instantly fell in love with the breed. After a few years of getting my own, I discovered dog shows. What a joy to be able to show off my dogs! After a few years out of the show world, I recently started showing again and now have 3 championships under my belt.
What makes your program special?
I am dedicated to finding the best loving and caring homes for each of my babies. I have also learned that it is easier to potty train versus clean up after them. So, my puppies leave for their new families with the hardest part already done. I screen all potential families and look to place puppies in homes that are suited for the personality of each puppy.

What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include brindle and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
