I'm Angela H., the breeder behind Hook Creek Farms located in Cedar Glen, CA. Taking a break to improve our program. AKC. We do ENS and ESI. Parents Genetic tested. Heart and Eyes OFA, Pedigrees of racing, Show pedigree soon, even temperament. Lure coursing. Encourage lure interest with puppies. We will be starting show and only breed if our females succeed in show and Lure.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Breeding evolved after much studying and learning and talking to other breeders learning this breed is vulnerable in the USA and wanting to contribute to the breeds healthy existence in the USA. I am still learning and I think its good to always work to be better at something you love.

  • What makes your program special?

    We health test, OFA, Genetic test, Chic soon, our females moving towards chic. AKC registered. Daily life with puppies in our home around us. We do lure coursing and show soon. We will only breed if our females succeed in show and lure coursing. We will find a compatible males. We are in California. We provide wellness exam (not a health certificate) and first vaccinations for puppies.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies are blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Angela

Angela has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Price

Puppy prices include a $500 refundable deposit and $3,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.

"500 reservation fee included in final payment. surcharges are passed onto client so the price of the dog on my other pages online might be different from here by a few hundred. Deposit is to be on waiting list (deducted from final payment). Waiting list is limited to expected litter. Puppies will be assigned at 7 weeks to which temperament matches each home life style best."

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Parent health testing

Hook Creek Farms reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Greyhounds.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), DNA Disease Panel, Polyneuropathy, Greyhound Type (NDRG1)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
