I'm Jennifer B., the breeder behind Hoppin Honey Homestead located in South Williamsport, PA. IWe raise our dogs in our home right alongside our family. We love being able to match our puppies with families that are the perfect fit for their personalities. Our puppies are raised in our living room, their Mom is our family pet and will be introduced to our other dog and cat. We can introduce puppies to sheep, rabbits and chickens as well. Puppies will be accustomed to household and farm sounds.
Q. & A. with Jennifer
Why did you start breeding?
We also breed Silver Fox Rabbits and Haired Sheep.
What makes your program special?
We only have one female, Brenna, she is our pet first and lives in our home with our family. We understand the importance of receiving a well bred animal. In our home we also have aquariums, a fixed older Male Tucker and our Cat Nya. Our pets are fed a mixed diet of kibble and raw foods. Our puppies can be introduced to any of the animals above as well as they will be accustomed to the sounds and smells of a home and the farm next door.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include liver white and roan, liver white and tan, and liver and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Jennifer (and her family) is an amazing breeder. So attentive with updates and pictures of the litter’s progress. Her communication is over the top and prompt. Jennifer is very knowledgeable and caring, giving lots of pointers and tips as we got closer to the pick up date. When we met our two new puppies - we were given fantastic goodies baskets - one for each puppy. Each basket contained a blanket with their mother’s scent, a couple of favorite toys they played with, a doggy treats bag, harness and leash, a small baggie of alfalfa litter and a small bag of used litter. Jennifer and her family started with house training and a few simple commands before we picked them up at 9 weeks of age. The love and care Jennifer gave the puppies and everything needed for a successful and easy transition to the puppies’ forever homes was truly heartwarming. Our newest family members seem to have quickly adapted to their new home with no difficulties at all! The puppies are well adjusted to being handled, picked up and of course - playing! They are very happy puppies. We purchased a boy and a girl and they were even prepped in advance by being paired up for play time. The litter was large - 10 siblings and Jennifer gave each puppy the attention and care they needed. They were even introduced to the family cat - so they would be familiar if going to a home with feline companions. I can’t say enough about the process and experience of selecting and purchasing our puppies from Jennifer. It was seamless and any questions we had were promptly answered. Jennifer was keen to share each puppy’s personality, traits and appearance with weekly updates and photos. They absolutely were bred in a loving and caring environment. I highly recommend Jennifer at Hoppin Honey Homestead as a trusted breeder. You’ll find you will get the best companion from this breeder. Thanks for everything, Jennifer! It was a pleasure meeting you and your family and we are over the moon with our new babies!

We had a wonderful experience with Hoppin Honey Homestead. I saw Commander pop up in one of my Springer groups, and I thought he was adorable. I commented and heard from Jenny almost immediately. Within just a couple of hours we were on the phone with her. I was completely at ease and knew that I definitely wanted to adopt through Hoppin Honey. They were fantastic. Jenny was very thorough with all of Commander's info including his health check-ups and what we needed to do next. We went to go adopt him the next night. Jenny had an amazing take home bag filled with everything we would need for the first weeks or so. Commander is an excellent puppy, and is making himself right at home. We feel so lucky to have adopted him through Jenny!
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
