Meet the breeder

I'm Melinda M., the breeder behind I Love U Back Labradoodles, LLC located in San Antonio, TX. I am a certified dog trainer and certified in AKC Breeding, AKC Whelping & Intervention, ABC'S of Dog Breeding, Genetics Part 1 & 2 and an active Avidog Associate Breeder. I have a passion for dogs but an obsession with Labradoodles!

Q. & A. with Melinda

  • Why did you start breeding?

I was a pediatric allergy nurse for many years. I'd wake up dreading my workdays. One day I was asked, "why don't you work with dogs"? I never thought about being able to build my life around my love and passion for dogs (and puppies)! I already had Labradoodles since I knew they were the best for kids with allergies. So I started research on breeding and haven't stopped since. I feel complete!
  • What makes your program special?

Dogs are my passion. I do my best to keep my dog's stress levels low by doing my own sonograms, blood work, training & grooming. I am continuing my education and learning with Avidog, Catch, and In Harmony with Dogs. I'm also training in K9 nose work. My goal is to produce healthy, well-tempered, intelligent, happy, trainable dogs who will make a great pet or a strong working dog.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Labradoodle puppies include miniature, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Labradoodle puppies include caramel, caramel red, red, apricot, cream, chocolate, parchment, and tri-color. Australian Labradoodle puppies include apricot, chocolate, cafe, parchment, black, silver, and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I have two dogs from I Love You Back and they are truly the best dogs I could have ever asked for. Mel was so helpful, knowledgeable and responsive to any questions I had! She provided a wealth of information and even gave us a gift bag/puppy starter kit! Both of my babies still snuggle with the teddy bear provided in the gift bag. I cannot recommend Mel enough if you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy breeder with the best dogs!

Our experience with Melinda was super easy & efficient. From the moment I began a text thread, Melinda was responsive, even on off hours like Sunday's & evenings! We live in Colorado, so travel arrangements had to be made. Melinda was able to get a flight to our nearest airport at a time that worked for our family. She walked us through the process & Mac (now Maverick) was playing with me, my wife & two boys within days of the first text. We love our newest family member & couldn't be happier with Melinda & I Love You Back Labradoodles!
