Today was a major milestone day here at ICS. All 7 puppies officially completed their temperament and trait evaluations today, and I could not be more proud of this litter. Every puppy handled the process beautifully and showed so many promising qualities throughout their assessments. The evaluations were completed by ThunderHawk Academy, Middle Tennessee’s premier dog training facility, and we are extremely thankful for the time, professionalism, and detailed attention they gave each puppy individually. They have asked us to allow approximately 48–72 hours for them to finalize their findings and complete each puppy’s detailed evaluation report. Once I receive those completed evaluations, I will officially begin making placement decisions based on temperament, traits, lifestyle compatibility, and overall family fit. Watching these puppies grow, develop confidence, recover from new situations, engage with their environment, and continue showing stable temperaments is incredibly rewarding as a breeder. Days like today are a reminder of why so much time, structure, and intentional work goes into raising puppies correctly from the very beginning. This breeder is one happy guy tonight. I am very proud of these puppies and very excited for their futures. More updates coming soon. — Impressive Cartwright Standards

Thomas’ first foot trim ✂️🐩 This is why early desensitization matters. We start introducing puppies to handling, clipper vibration, nail trims, and grooming exposure early so these experiences feel normal instead of scary later in life. A calm puppy doesn’t happen by accident.

What a big milestone in the whelping box. First introduction to puppy mush… and it was a success. You can hear it for yourself — every puppy engaged, curious, and confident stepping into this next phase. This is where the transition begins. From full dependence on mom to learning independence, structure, and routine. Mom is still involved, but we start guiding the process forward intentionally. Small moments like this matter more than most people realize. They’re not just eating… they’re learning. #standardpoodle #puppydevelopment #DogBreederLife #earlydevelopment #impressivecartwrightstandards #raisedwithpurpose

First time this has happened. Darci has not allowed any of the dogs near the whelping box… until now. Theo stepped in quietly—calm, respectful—and she allowed it. This is what stable temperament looks like. Not forced. Not trained in the moment. Proven. This is why we prioritize temperament above all else at Impressive Cartwright Standards.

At 3 weeks old, Thomas is not “too young” he is exactly on time. We do not wait for fear to appear. We build confidence before it’s ever needed. Today, he is being introduced to the vibration of grooming clippers calmly, intentionally, without force. Because what a puppy experiences early will shape how he responds later. Proverbs 22:6 is not a suggestion it’s a principle: “Train up a child in the way he should go…” That principle applies here. We don’t raise puppies reactively. We raise them with direction, structure, and purpose from the very beginning. So when Thomas stands on a grooming table in the future, he won’t panic. He’ll be steady because this foundation was already laid. This is the difference between hoping for a good dog and building one on purpose.

Quiet moments like this are where everything begins. This is what early development looks like inside our program—calm, structured, and intentional. From the very first days, our puppies are raised in an environment designed to support strong neurological development, emotional stability, and confident temperaments. While this may look like a simple nursing moment, it’s actually a critical phase in building the foundation for the companion your family will bring home. At Impressive Cartwright Standards, we don’t just raise puppies—we develop them with purpose. If you’ve been following along, this is just the beginning of their journey. Follow our page to watch these puppies grow, develop, and reveal their individual personalities over the coming weeks.

Lonnie was super responsive and amenable during visiting and pickup. He clearly knows each puppy and left no stones unturned as far as information on each puppy with plenty of testing. He helped chose the right puppy from the littler for me and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
