Meet the breeder

I'm Lonnie Y., the breeder behind Impressive Cartwright Standards located in Albany, KY. Every puppy deserves a loving start. From day one, we provide attentive care, early enrichment, and a nurturing environment so each puppy grows into a happy, confident companion ready to thrive in their forever home.

Q. & A. with Lonnie

  • Why did you start breeding?

Several years ago, I began searching for a Standard Poodle with the highest health standards—one fully DNA tested to ensure it wasn’t carrying genetic issues. I quickly realized finding breeders who met those standards was harder than it should be, which inspired me to create a program that holds itself to a higher standard.
  • What makes your program special?

Our program stands apart through careful selection based on DNA testing, temperament, and quality lineage. Each puppy is DNA tested and introduced to ENS and ESI from the first days of life, continuing through development to promote confident, well-rounded companions ready for their forever homes.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include moyen and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, brown, cafe au lait, cream, parti, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

I feel so fortunate to have used the Good Dog platform & come across Lonnie's breeding program/Impressive Cartwright Poodles. He's incredibly kind, knowledgeable, responsive, and has clearly taken the time to build an amazing breeding program. We love our puppy dearly & pur personal vet who is also a dog breeder has praised all of the parent testing & new puppy packet that Lonnie offers along with your fur baby. I also feel confident & thankful that Lonnie is accessible for guidance and wants to maintain updates on the dogs throughout their life... Cartwright Impressive Poodles is truly a labor of love for him.

Lonnie was super responsive and amenable during visiting and pickup. He clearly knows each puppy and left no stones unturned as far as information on each puppy with plenty of testing. He helped chose the right puppy from the littler for me and I couldn’t be happier with my choice.
