I'm Amber K., the breeder behind J&A Shepherd's located in Kewaunee, WI. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament. We focus on providing healthy, family pets. We strive to keep in contact with all owners and ensure a lifelong happy home for our pups. We currently have 2 beautiful GSDs in our family and look forward to adding to our program in the future!

Why did you start breeding?
My parents bred while I was growing up, so I have been involved in this world for my whole life. I love German Shepherds and was excited to start my own program. It has been an absolute joy of a journey, and I am so happy to be able to share these wonderful dogs with other loving families and individuals.What makes your program special?
I have a small program that is focused on good family dogs at an affordable price. Because our program is so small, we are able to provide each dog and puppy with the best care and all of the attention they need. We spoil each of our puppies with personal attention and lots of group playtime. It would be our pleasure to introduce you to your next GSD puppy!What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include stock and long coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Getting a puppy from Amber
Amber has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
"Puppies are available at two prices. For $900, ownership of the puppy will be transferred to the buyer with Limited AKC Registration on a Spay/Neuter Contract. We require the puppy to be spayed/neutered when age appropriate, to be determined by a licensed vet. Age recommendation, unless medically necessary, of no sooner than 2 years old to allow for proper growth and development. For $1200, ownership of the puppy will be transferred to the buyer with Full AKC Registration with breeding rights. Part of our contract for these puppies includes not breeding the pup until they are 2 years or older and have appropriate health testing completed, including but not limited to DM and OFA. The $300 non-refundable deposit is to be paid after signing the agreement, and the remaining balance is to be paid before the puppy leaves with the buyer."

About Kona
Kona is a black and tan sadle back stock coat GSD. She is about 60lbs and has a low to medium drive. She has a great temperament of calm, social and protective in nature. She loves to snuggle on the couch and keep an eye on her family. She loves going for walks and exploring. She does not have a drive for toys, but loves hunting in the yard.

About Kaiser
Kaiser is a black sable long coat. He is about 60lbs with a medium drive. He has training started for service dog and acts as an emotional support animal. He is very sweet and loves snuggling. He is very protective of his home and his people. He loves car rides and playing with toys.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
