James Danes

Erin J.

Breeder of Great Danes

Meet the breeder

I'm Erin J., the breeder behind James Danes located in Spirit Lake, ID. Our female is CHIC and our stud is OFA tested with his Pennhip recorded with OFA. We have done everything we can to make sure our puppies will have long healthy lives. They are raised in our home so they have tons of interaction, exposure, and handling. They meet our other dogs, family, and cats.

Q. & A. with Erin

  • Why did you start breeding?

We got into breeding to produce a litter of happy and healthy puppies that would bring joy to other families as ours have done for us.
  • What makes your program special?

The care we give our puppies makes our breeding program special. The puppies are included in day to day life as soon as they are mobile. We prioritized healthy dogs because the heartbreak and expense of ill pets is something we have experienced in the past with our own pets and wouldn't wish this on our puppies or their owners. We do our best to raise great Great Danes!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue, harlequin, merle, and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
