I'm Jennifer T., the breeder behind J&J Harmony Acres located in Mt Juliet, TN. Raised on a farm and active in 4-H, I grew up showing livestock and learning animal care hands-on. I worked as a veterinary technician for over 10 years, hold an A&VS degree from WVU, and have owned a grooming business for 15 years. I now live on a working farm focused on animal health and behavior.

This isn’t the post I expected to make — but it is one I’m very happy to share. The “Little Love” litter has officially begun their new adventures with the people who fell in love with them. Cutie is off to Nebraska Kisses to Massachusetts Candy to North Carolina Snuggle Bug to Kentucky Rosie & Precious to Alabama Hugs, Lil’ Darlin, and Sweet Pea will be staying close to home here in Tennessee And Smooch will be staying with me. This litter has been an absolute joy to raise — full of affection, personality, and heart. I’m so grateful to the wonderful families who trusted me with one of these babies, and I can’t wait to watch them grow, learn, and settle into the lives they were meant for. More exciting things ahead — stay tuned.

The puppies are now five weeks old and progressing well through Puppy Culture. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) have been completed, and we are currently in the enrichment and confidence-building stage. At this age, we focus on gentle challenges, novel surfaces, age-appropriate problem solving, and continued positive human interaction. This week, the puppies were introduced to snow for the first time. They explored confidently—sniffing, pawing, and engaging with the new texture and temperature with curiosity and enthusiasm. Early exposure to experiences like this helps build resilience, adaptability, and confidence in a thoughtful, developmentally appropriate way. The puppies are actively engaging with toys, people, and their environment, and individual personalities are beginning to emerge while they continue to develop. Photos and videos will be updated regularly as they grow.

Miniature Australian Shepherd
About Josie
Josie is a 16” tall, 28-lb ASDR Miniature Australian Shepherd with a low-to-moderate drive and an exceptional off switch. She enjoys working—especially hunting rats and vermin in the barn, backing up my rules on the farm, and thoughtfully moving goats—but she’s just as likely to sneak off to the house and claim the sofa for a nap. She knows when it’s time to work and when it’s time to be done. She’s a COVID-era puppy and missed some early socialization, so she’s initially aloof with strangers. That said, she warms up quickly, especially if treats are involved, and bonds deeply with her people. With other dogs, Josie is neutral and confident, expecting respectful behavior and offering the same in return. Josie is environmentally solid—noise, farm chaos, and new situations don’t faze her. She’s a quick learner, compliant, and thoughtful in how she works livestock rather than reactive or reckless. Her favorite words are “good dog” and “let’s go,” and truck rides are her idea of living right. Health testing is fully transparent, and we stand behind our dogs and our program without apology. Josie is the heart of our farm and my ride-or-die—steady, loyal, and exactly the kind of dog we aim to produce.
Great health testing
Great level
J&J Harmony Acres reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Miniature Australian Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
