Meet the breeder

I'm JIM B., the breeder behind JLB's Yonah Goldens located in Cleveland, GA. Yonah Goldens breeds high-quality puppies. We love what we do and are committed to producing well-bred, healthy puppies for loving homes. Our dogs are our passion, and we can't imagine spending our lives without them. We are dedicated to achieving excellence and healthy family pets, and we love to raise puppies and prepare them for their forever homes. Our facility is climate control with TV and washroom. We live on 40 acres in the mountains with plenty of room to run and swim. Our dogs are our family and anyone that knows us have seen the level of care and love we put into our dogs.

Q. & A. with JIM

  • Why did you start breeding?

We have always had Golden Retrievers, when I was in the military my Golden Remmington traveled to Europe with me and ran with the troops in the morning formations. Our love of the breed we knew we had to do more. My father and I decided to take it to the next step. We lost him as we began starting up the business. We do this business in memory of our great father and the great goldens we owned in the past.
  • What makes your program special?

This is not a job to us, it's a love and passion. We love our dogs and they are part of our family. We are situated in NE Georgia in the mountains with plenty of land and water for our goldens to run. Our business is family operated and we involve grandparents, children and grand kids.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are light golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Jim has gone above and beyond at every single step of finding, picking out, and picking up our baby boy Cooper. Jim’s kennel facility is pristine, clean, has a/c, heat, and even a tv for the dogs. We visited Jim and his kennel several times. The mom, dad, and puppies receive nearly full time care. Jim has college students from the local college to come play and socialize with the puppies. Our Cooper is by far the smartest, calmest, most beautiful and sweetest puppy I’ve ever met. We’ve had Cooper for 7 days now. He already is potty trained to go outside. He also knows how to alert us to take him outside. Cooper also knows how to sit, shake, go up and down the front porch steps, he likes to get part of the leash in his mouth and kind of walk himself. He goes potty outside quickly and then takes us back to the front door. He sits and waits for me to open the front door and take off his leash. Then he runs into the kitchen and sits waiting for his treat. Every single day Cooper learns new things. He truly amazes me. Jim was always very responsive to texts or messages through good dog. We’ve even kept in touch since picking up our baby boy. We cannot be more happy with Jim and our amazing baby Cooper! Thank you Jim for being a great breeder and now friend. We couldn’t be more pleased! I know if you choose to purchase your new furbaby through Jim at JLB’s Yonah Goldens you will be as thrilled as we are with our baby boy Cooper!

JIM and his wife are good people who love their dogs. I was impressed by a number of things here: clean facilities, care and attention to the dogs, thoughtful questions and answers, and thorough, responsible paperwork. Now, let me just say I now have the smartest, most beautiful baby pup in the history of the world with the BEST, most chill personality. I'm impressed, thank you😊

We are so in love with our pup! I’m so glad that we found Jim on Good Dog. He was quick to respond to messages and sent us pictures and videos of our little girl until she was ready to join our family. The barn was clean and well kept! We are so grateful of the joy our pup has brought to our family! Thank you!
