I'm Sunny L., the breeder behind Jordan Standard Schnauzers located in Cottage Grove, MN. I raise all of my dogs with love in my home. I have high expectations for my puppies and make sure to place each one in an enriching and loving home that will match their temperament and personality! My ultimate goal is to produce intelligent and well-structured canines that can excel within various performance venues and have the ability to be the greatest family companions.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I want to do my part to better the breed. My breeding program strives to maintain the unique characteristics of the Schnauzer while placing an emphasis on producing puppies of superior structure, conformation, and working ability. It has been an absolute joy of a journey, and I am so happy to be able to share these wonderful dogs with other loving families and individuals.

I take great care with each breeding to ensure I am producing puppies that are excellent representations of the breed. I am very dedicated to what I do and what I aim to achieve as a breeder. I work with passion, heart, and integrity, and I truly want what's best for the Schnauzer line.

  • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA)

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • OFA/CHIC DNA Repository, Dilated Cardiomyopathy (Schnauzer Type)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
