I'm Joy Y., the breeder behind Joyfully Golden located in Portland, OR. I have a love for Golden Retrievers and want everyone who wants to, get to have a best friend! I raise all of my dogs with love in my home. I am a small breeder allowing me to give each of my puppies, dogs, and breedings the proper care and attention they each deserve. I am dedicated to providing happy, healthy, and well-socialized pups for others to welcome into their family. I love my pups and know you will love them, too!

Why did you start breeding?
I have always loved Goldens and ended up with one of the most spectacular girls and had to share her with the rest of the world! As I learned more about responsible breeding practices, I wanted to do my part to produce healthy, well-bred puppies. It has been an absolute joy of a journey, and I am so happy to be able to share these wonderful dogs with other loving families and individuals.What makes your program special?
I truly love Goldens and am dedicated to looking out for the breed as a whole. I know the health and status of every dog I have bred and am proud of the temperament and conformation of my puppies. I have a few packages depending on the want or the need of the client -- including a basic training package!What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include dark golden and golden. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

+4Joy is such a responsible breeder. She takes such good care of her dogs and puppies, you can tell when you bring them home. We adopted Astreaus (grey collar)! He has been such a delight! He is so smart, he figured out the dog door on the first day! He quickly learned not to chew on people, but on his toys. After only a week with us, he sits and waits for his food. He is working on crate training and tells us at night when he needs to go potty. And sits on command 100% of the time! He’s such a good boy. When we have had questions, she is super responsive and has sent us links to help get adjusted to our new little fluff boy. I’m so glad we chose Joyfully Golden and Joy as our breeder to get our puppy from. 100% would use her again for our next puppy.

We appreciate the excellent care Crystal gave Shelly (Emma) in her first months of life. It was evident from the day we met her.
