I'm Joy K., the breeder behind Joy's Dood Ranch located in Beaumont, TX. At Joy's Dood Ranch, we work to produce happy healthy puppies for families in the US through health testing and careful selection. Our puppies are raised in our home and will come with a 1 year genetic HEALTH GUARANTEE, CKC registration and pedigree, and head start POTTY and SOCIAL TRAINING.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My breeding program began when I met my first Bernedoodle on a family vacation in Georgia. I was blown away by his focus, obedience, temperament and pattern! I was instantly infatuated and became obsessed with the breed and wanted to replicate this amazing dog I met in the Mountains of Elijay, Georgia.

  • What makes your program special?

    At Joy's Dood Ranch, we health test all our breeding dogs and research temperament and family lineage prior to breeding to protect ethical breeding practices. All puppies come with a first year genetic health guarantee and will have appropriate socialization, potty training and anxiety training. Our dogs are CKC registered and puppies will come with pedigree and registration papers.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies include mini, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include yellow and white, red, sable, tri-color, and phantom. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Joy

Joy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $1,400 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1B), Bernese Mountain Dog Type, Degenerative Myelopathy (DM; SOD1A), von Willebrand Disease I (vWD I)

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    If you have the chance to get a puppy from Joy - GET A PUPPY FROM JOY. Not only was she extremely responsive, she got on a FaceTime with us to show us our gorgeous girl and tell us everything we needed to know. She followed up with updates, pictures, and videos in the week before we could go get her. Joy is kind responsive and so incredibly transparent and GOOD. As far as our puppy goes - she’s perfect. You can tell she was loved for every moment Joy had her. She’s a calm and incredibly even keeled pup. Multiple trainers have told us how rare it is to have a puppy that is so aware, intelligent, and calm. She’s also gorgeous. People run off their porches to ask us what breed she is and who we got her from. People change their paths so they can say hi to our girl screaming “OH MY GOSH SHE’S SO CUTE”. Over and over we give so much of the credit to Joy for her incredible breeding. From appearance, to temperament, loving personality, and trainability - she’s perfect and our home is all the better and happier for it.

    A year ago, we were looking for a new puppy. I searched all over Oregon for a puppy but just did not find "the one." One day I went to the Good Dog site and one of the first pictures I saw was Plaid (now Basil) and I instantly knew he would be ours. However, Basil was in Texas and we are in Oregon. I contacted Joy's Dood Ranch about the possibility of flying Basil to Oregon. Joy responded immediately and said that should not be a problem at all. They offered to fly Basil to us for the price of the ticket. I knew then that this was meant to be. Joy made everything so easy. She was easy to communicate with before and after we got Basil. Now, let me tell you about the best dog ever. I was nervous about bringing in a new puppy but this big guy has been the best. He is super smart, easily trainable, and just the sweetest mouth breather ever. He was trained to go potty outside within a few days. When I train him to do tricks or leave things alone it takes maybe a day and he has it. We love our big guy and if we didn't have so many animals already, we would absolutely get another one. Especially from Joy's Dood Ranch!

    I saw Joy’s listing for Bernedoodle and messaged her for more information. She was very responsive and we talked a fair amount about my family and the type of dog and temperament that we were looking for. With 2 young kids, we needed a dog that would be gentle and patient, ready to play but also docile and cuddly. Joy assured me that the puppy we had messaged about totally fit the bill - and she was right! We FaceTimed so we were able to see him in his element and answered each others questions.
