I'm DesMond A., the breeder behind KAI Kennels located in Atlanta, GA. All of our dogs are loved as family members. We cherish our puppies from birth up until they leave our arms to snuggle into yours! Our love for our dogs pushed us to begin breeding. We love to see the results of our efforts in the sweet, happy, and healthy puppies that we’re able to share with others.

Why did you start breeding?
My love for animals. People always asked about my beautiful dogs and asked if I sold puppies. I thought long and hard about it. Also did a lot of research about my breeders and tried it. When I purchased my dogs I only paid top dollar for them to make sure they were pure. As years went on I also found out that breeding is quite lucrative when you already have a love for it.What makes your program special?

Our French Bulldog puppies include brindle, blue, blue fawn, black, and black and white. Poodle puppies include apricot, brown, cafe au lait, cream, silver-beige, and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

About Oshun
Oshun is a female Poodle. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, DesMond decided to make her part of their program. DesMond has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Spine (OFA, FCI)
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
