I'm Anni S., the breeder behind Kalamazoo Bernedoodles located in Kalamazoo, MI. We love that this mixed breed brings all the qualities we love from the Poodle and Bernese Mountain dogs, with the benefit of lowered health risks. We have raised both our dogs from puppies into well-rounded family pets and love to walk alongside people looking to do the same for their families.

Why did you start breeding?
We first thought of breeding after our purebred Bernese Mountain dog fell very ill early in his life. It was heartbreaking to watch his decline, so we were determined to find a healthier alternative, which is how we landed on the Bernedoodle. This mix really captures the best of both breeds: the loyalty and gentleness of the Berner, and the playful, low-shedding, and intellect of the Poodle.What makes your program special?
We're a small, home-based operation on a 2-acre property. Our setup allows for early introduction to potty training, crate training, and leash training. We've been through the heartbreak of dogs with health issues, so we are especially careful to ensure our puppies are healthy and go to healthy homes as well.What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Getting a puppy from Anni
Anni has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Anni partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 6 weeks old.
“We take great care in matching each puppy to the right family. Once temperaments and personalities can be determined (around week 6) families can meet the pups to find the best fit for their families. ”
Price
“Price includes a health guarantee, initial vaccinations, micro-chipping, a puppy starter kit, and early puppy socialization. The deposit is $300 or 10% of the cost of a puppy. This secures your spot on the waitlist for a litter on a first-come, first-served basis.”

About Reggie
Reggie is truly our dream dog! He is sweet, gentle, lazy and has a stubborn side from his Bernese roots. He is very intelligent, often scheming Tootsie into giving up her toys for his benefit. He has a goofy grin and personality too. The bestest boy!

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
