I'm Jana K., the breeder behind Kanes Shichon Teddies located in Oelwein, IA. It is our goal to breed adorable, affectionate Shichon puppies that are healthy, well-tempered, and make wonderful companions. Each of our dogs have brought so much happiness to us throughout their lives. We wanted to share that happiness and hope that it can bring other people joy as well, and we strive to find each of our puppies a loving homes where they can live happy lives.

Why did you start breeding?
I got into breeding cause I loved the heck out of my female shichon, Willow, so much that I wanted others to have the experience of having one like her. It’s not my full time job I just enjoy doing it on the side. I love to love on each little puppy and watch them grow and their personalities blossom. The best part is handing them over to their forever family and seeing the love come into their eyes. It’s a very proud moment for me. My pups have helped me through a lot in my life and I hope the pups we breed can do the same for others!What makes your program special?
I feel getting a dog from us is special cause they all have been raised like they would if they were our own. They have their own “bedroom” space but they also get to run the house and interact with the other dogs in our household as well.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Jana
Jana has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Together, you’ll choose the puppy that’s right for you, stay in touch with regular updates, and plan how to bring your new puppy home.
Price
Puppy prices include a $200 non-refundable deposit and $500 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“We do ask for a $200 non-refundable deposit just to assure us that you are not going to back out at the last minute. This deposit does go towards the final price of your puppy. The remainder will be owed at the time of pick up. We ask for a $200 non-refundable deposit just so we know your pup will be going to a loving and caring home at the end of its 8 weeks with us. It does go towards you final total of $700.”
Contract & health guarantee
Jana may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.
